Aamir has done it again. I usually would not write about a movie on my blog unless it really moved me to think. Well Ghajini has done it this time and here I am penning down the first entry of 2009 to my blog.
Ghajini - I perceived it to be a rather pensive and intense love story. Aamir and the makers of this movie have taken love to different level altogether. Despite of short-term memory loss handicap, Sanjay Singhania's sole objective for living is avenging his lady love's wrongful death. This speaks volumes about the love he had for her.
Aamir's versatility to portray a character from both ends of the horizon is simply spectacular. From the handsome, suave and educated businessman to the ruthless, beast-like man whose reason to living each day without knowing what had happened just 15mins ago. What is note-worthy yet again in his movie is the complete surrender and sincerity with which he drapes himself into the character he plays. The eight-pack abs and the young-look is awesome. At the same time, the portrayal of a near vegetable-like man scrambling to live on with the only motive of vengeance, with death and pain in his eyes - priceless!
Asin, definitely is a good actor with great screen presence. Having done the same role in the Tamil movie, yet the freshness in her portrayal of Kalpana is remarkable. Despite a shorter role she leaves quite an impression. Her eyes speak volumes without uttering a word in the most unnerving of scenes.
Action-packed, fine cinematography and acting by Aamir and Asin - Ghajini is a winner all the way. Kudos to Aamir for such work and expressions that Aamir and only Aamir could make it happen in Bollywood.

No comments on love. However, after taking vengeance, technically after 15 min, "he should forget that he has killed Ghajini". This current killing of Ghajini, is it the first one or one of the serial killings ? Whats your take shalini ? - Thanks to Memento..
